Fiji Airways has once again been recognised after winning the 2024 APEX Passenger Choice Awards for Best Entertainment in the South Pacific and their second award for Best Seat Comfort in the South Pacific.
In a statement, the airline says this is the first time Fiji Airways’ inflight entertainment offerings have been recognised.
Fiji Airways Managing Director and CEO Andre Viljoen says they are immensely proud to receive these prestigious awards, which is a testament to the tireless efforts made by their team to innovate their offerings.
He says being recognised by their esteemed guests gives them the motivation to do even better and offer an exceptional Fijian experience at every touch-point of the journey.
The airline has recently added award-winning blockbuster titles from Disney and HBO to its in-flight entertainment content providing more than 840 hours of content.
In addition, Fiji Airways has also introduced wellness content such as meditation and breath work to help guests arrive at their destination relaxed and rejuvenated.
Viljoen says they will be launching a content streaming solution for flights on their Boeing 737-NG and ATR aircraft.
He says guests on these aircraft will be able to stream the full suite of their inflight entertainment catalogue directly to their personal devices from December this year, while their Business Class guests will also receive a new generation iPad Pro with the full content suite for their use for the duration of the flight from November.
The airline also offers complimentary full-flight Wi-Fi browsing in Business Class, 15-minute complimentary text Wi-Fi in Economy Class, and more attractive Wi-Fi purchase plans on their A350 and MAX fleet.
Fiji Airways says this means that passengers flying between the United States and Australia/New Zealand via Nadi, will have the most comprehensive inflight entertainment and connectivity experience offered by any airline flying the region.
They say they attribute their recognition for Best Seat Comfort in the South Pacific for two years running to the fact that it has one of the youngest and most modern fleets in the world.
The airline says four flagship Airbus A350s, which service medium and long haul flights, feature Collins Aerospace Super Diamond full lie-flat seats, offering extra comfort with generous bedding and amenities for Business Class guests.
They say a turn-down service which includes a mattress, duvet, blanket and pillow is a favourite for guests on long-haul flights.
