In the lead up to direct flights between Nadi and Vancouver, a promotional flight left last night carrying a high level VIP delegation led by Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
He is accompanied by senior civil servants, executives from Fiji Airways, Tourism Fiji, Fiji Airports, the Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji and partners representing the hotel industry.
Fiji Airways Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Andre Viljoen says the promotional flight will grab the attention of Canadians and generate interest in the direct non-stop flights which commence on November 25th, 2022.
Viljoen says they are already seeing a positive response from the Canada market with bookings confirmed from November onwards.
However he says it is a large market and we must make every effort possible to give our airline exposure, and to capture international travellers from Canada who may not be aware that they can hop on the modern A330 aircraft and literally wake up in paradise.
When they reach Vancouver, the VIP delegation and industry partners will be engaging with stakeholders and solidifying our position not only as an attractive tourist destination, but also a viable trade partner for Canadian businesses.
Canada is Fiji Airways 20th destination for direct flights.
