The Fiji Airways Men’s 7s team will be looking at getting their first back to back win after four years in the Vancouver 7s that kicks off tomorrow.
The last time Fiji won back to back tournaments was during the 2019 London and Paris 7s.
Coach Ben Gollings says a big area they have been focusing on this week is ensuring the players are mentally and physically fit so they can back up their win from Singapore last week.
He says players have re-generated themselves.
Joseva Talacolo is not part of the 13 member squad confirmed for the Vancouver 7s.
The reason for Talacolo’s absence is yet to be confirmed by Fiji Rugby.
Tevita Daugunu will once again captain the side while Vuiviawa Naduvalo looks set to continue his excellent start in the World 7s series.
The 13 men squad also includes Jerry Tuwai, Waisea Nacuqu, Iowane Teba, Kaminieli Rasaku, Jeremaia Matana, Iowane Ratuciri, Filipo Bukayaro, Josevani Saro, Tira Welagi Patterson and Josua Vakurunabili.
The Fiji 7s team will meet England in their first match of the Vancouver 7s at 5.53am tomorrow, they will then take on Kenya at 9.04am tomorrow in their second match and play USA at 12.35pm tomorrow in their final pool match.
The Cup quarterfinals will start at 5.40am Monday, the semis will start at 9.44am Monday while the Cup final will be played at 12.58pm Monday.
