Former All Blacks outside back Malakai Fekitoa is eager to kick off his 2023 Rugby World Cup campaign with Tonga against World number 1 Ireland this weekend and says it will be tough game for his team and and they are looking to match the Irish physically.
Fekitoa, who won the World Cup title with the All Blacks back in 2015, says playing against the Irish will be weird as well especially against some of his former team mates from Munster.
Fekitoa adds he has a really good connection with those players as they looked after him when he was there and won the URC championship together with those memories lasting a lifetime.
The Ikale Tahi side Tonga has assembled its best squad ever for a World Cup, including former All Blacks Vaea Fifita, George Moala, Charles Piutau and Augustine Pulu beside Fekitoa and former Australia lock Adam Coleman, who could make his debut for Tonga this weekend.
Tonga will take on Ireland at 7am Sunday in Nante.
