Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s nippy scrum-half Pilipo Bukayaro says that fatigue was never an issue for the players in the previous tournament in Perth as they have improved on their recovery efforts.
Bukayaro says there were speculations from the public that the players were tired during the Perth tournament.
He says all the hard work is done in Fiji before the tournament and when the players fly out to participate they hardly do hard runs, as they tune their focus to recovery and game plans.
The Taveuni speedster says they do a lot of team runs during game week and they have never felt fatigue was an issue.
The Vancouver 7s will be held from this Saturday to next Monday.
Fiji will take on Uruguay at 7.18am Saturday for their first pool match; they will then meet the USA at 12.45pm on the same day before playing Spain at 6.52am Sunday in their last pool match.
The men’s cup quarter-final will kick off at 12.51pm Sunday, the cup semi-finals will begin at 8.30 am Monday while the Cup Final will kick off at 1.05 pm.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s will take on Japan at 10am Saturday in their first pool match; they will then play France at 3.52pm on the same day before playing Great Britain at 9.18am next Sunday in their last pool match.
The women’s cup quarter-finals will kick off at 3.32pm next Sunday, the semi-finals will begin at 9.14am on Monday, 24th February, and the cup final will kick off at 1.41pm.
