Father grieves for daughter who lost her life in an accident last night

Sheikh Mohammed Imraz who is the father of 19 year old Nurainah Sheikh who lost her life in an accident along Brown Street in Suva last night says that it pains him to imagine Eid with the fact that his eldest daughter is no more.  

Imraz says that he had just finished his prayers after breaking his fast when he saw that he had 7 missed calls from his wife.

He says that he did not know what to do when he was informed by his wife that his daughter was involved in an accident.

Imraz came to Suva from Nadi adding that he was informed on the way that their daughter is no more but he did not know how to inform his wife.

Nurainah Sheikh who was a first year Medical Science student at the Fiji National University’s School of Medicine will be laid to rest at 9 tonight.

Meanwhile, a 26‑year‑old man remains in police custody following the accident that claimed the life of a 19‑year‑old student.

The accident occurred last night along Brown Street in Suva.

It is alleged that the suspect hit the victim while she was crossing at the pedestrian crossing near the FNU Hoodless House.

The 26 year old was driving towards Suva at the time of the incident.
