The fashion designers of Fiji are keen to take on the sole responsibility of Fiji Fashion Week next year.
Founder of Fiji Fashion Week Ellen Whippy-Knight says since stepping down as the director of Fiji Fashion Week last year, this year she came to help work with the Fashion Designers Alliance of Fiji to run the event on their behalf.
Fashion Designers Alliance of Fiji Chairperson, Adi Koila Ganilau-Lee says that it is a forum where designers are given a voice and are able to talk about issues they are facing and collectively look for a way to address issues affecting the designers.
Ganilau-Lee adds that the Fashion Designers Alliance aims to build the regional fashion industry and include women who make sulu-jabas at home or at the flee market and anyone who has the talent and passion to design or make a garment.
The executives of the Fashion Designers Alliance of Fiji include designers, Adi Koila Ganilau-Lee, Robert Verebasaga, Epeli Tuibeqa, Michael Mausio and Rosie Isaacs.
