The Prime Minister today challenged people around Sigatoka Valley to take advantage of the development projects taken by Government.

Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said the Sigatoka Valley Road upgrade is expected to cost almost $40 million which has been funded through the Chinese Government soft loan.

He said that proper road is central to a country's progress and is fundamental infrastructure for connectivity as it connects business to markets, suppliers to consumers, citizens to critical public services such as health and education.

Meanwhile, a farmer in the Valley Road, Sagar Ram said they made several requests to previous governments since the 80s and only received false promises however the road upgrading will boost the farmers morale in the area and more export activities will generate from Valley Road.

The 15 km road upgrade which began today is being carried out by China Gezhoubd Group Company Limited of China.
