A 39-year-old farmer from Sawani is in Police custody after 9 plants and 2 parcels of dried leaves wrapped in paper believed to be marijuana were seized after a raid at his house and farm.
Police searched the house of a 35-year-old farmer of Rokovuaka Village in Rakiraki and found some dried leaves wrapped in paper with 13 green plants ranging from 70cm – 150cm.
Meanwhile, Labasa Market police arrested a 26-year-old farmer of Nasekula Village after he was allegedly found in possession of 14 sachets of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana.
Police say routine patrols through Labasa town, they searched a 35-year-old carpenter also from Nasekula Village whereby they allegedly found dried leaves inside a clear plastic suspected to be marijuana.
Both accused persons are in custody.
All drugs have been sent for analysis.
