Farmer charged for illicit cultivation of 8.5kg of marijuana remanded in custody

A 48-year-old farmer charged for the illicit cultivation of 8.5 kilograms of marijuana has been remanded in custody by the Suva Magistrates Court.

Police had raided Esala Raivola's farm on the 23rd of last month in Kadavu and seized 221 marijuana plants.

The accused claims he was forced to confess by police.

He will be produced in court on the 24th of this month.
