Fans can expect to see some attacking and exciting rugby when the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua makes it’s debut in the Super Rugby Pacific which kicks off next Friday.
While speaking at the launch of the competition today, Captain Nemani Nagusa says there are a number of exciting local and overseas players in the squad and even he is excited to see them take the field.
Meanwhile Coach Mick Byrne says the Olympians in the squad have helped them understand the sacrifices that need to be made when they are training in a bubble.
Players such as Meli Derenalagi, Napolioni Bolaca, Kalione Nasoko and Kitione Taliga were part of the gold medal winning team in Tokyo.
Byrne says these players know what it is like to win an Olympic gold medal and they are trying to bring some of that energy in the Drua camp.
The Drua will take on the Waratahs in their first match at 8.45pm next Friday.
In the first match, the Blues play the Moana Pasifika at 6.05pm.
