Faria Fareen is celebrating Eid with her brother and his wife and their extended family after 7 years as they are in Fiji for a holiday from Canada.
The Koronivia Road resident says she is excited to spend the day with her brother as they are planning to visit relatives to celebrate Eid with them.
Fiji Muslim League President Hafiz-Ud-Dean Khan says they are excited this year because of the lifting of most of the COVID restrictions.
He adds the Muslim community during this time of the year is very generous but this has been very difficult year for everyone so if possible, they must help the needy in whichever way they can.
Eid is celebrated to commemorate the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
Ramadan marks the time when the Quran, the Muslim holy book, was revealed to Prophet Muhammad.
