A call for justice to be served is being made by the family of 19 year old Maraia Boletawa whose body was found along the Sigatoka River last Friday.

News of Maraia’s death was heartbreaking for the family who was still coming to terms with the death of her older sister, Seini in June this year.

Seini Boletawa passed away after being allegedly assaulted by her partner.

Their aunty, Matelita Leba says it has not even been a 100 nights since Seini passed away and now Maraia is gone too.

She says the mother of the two sisters had come from Matuku in Lau to look after Seini’s children after her death and Maraia was also working to support them.

Leba says the mother received a call from Maraia last Thursday where she sounded like she needed help.

She says after that they were informed that Maraia was missing and they were told that her partner had picked her up from her workplace on Thursday.

She says Police had searched for her from Thursday and they were then told that Maraia’s body was found by the Sigatoka River on Friday.

The search is still on today for 24 year old Joji Turukoya Katzuky who is wanted for questioning in relation to the case.

Police say Katzuky was last seen with Maraia and investigators are looking to question him.

Police say Maraia was last seen and heard having an argument with Katzuky at their home at Nabitu Settlement earlier that morning before she ran off.

Her body was later found with visible injuries by the Sigatoka River.

Anyone with information is requested to call the Western Division Command Center on 9905457.
