Thousands gathered at Marist Brothers High School to farewell the late Roy Ravana Junior this morning.

Ravana’s death shocked many in Fiji after a shooting incident in Sacramento.

Roy’s father Ravana Senior told Fijivillage that the last time he spoke with his son, he had asked for some more time to stay back in the States as he was being approached by the USA Rugby Sevens team.

Ravana Senior added the shooting happened three days after he spoke to his son.

Meanwhile, the Marist Brothers High School students and old boys lined up on both sides of the road to the school to pay their last respects to Roy Junior.

The late Roy Ravana Junior went to Marist Brothers High School from 2008 to 2012 and was an outstanding athlete for Marist which also resulted in him getting a scholarship to go to the US.

He won gold for Marist in the 4x400 metres Senior Boys in 2012 and their record still stands.

Roy Ravana Junior was also part of the 4x100 metres Fiji team that won silver in the 2011 Pacific Games in Noumea.
