The Barara Youth Club distributed 96 food packs in the Western Division yesterday to help families struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic celebrate Diwali.

The club has assisted 1,408 families in the Western Division since the second outbreak of COVID-19 in Fiji in April this year.

They are also thankful to members of the public, NGOs and businesses for their support so they can continue to assist those who are in need.

They are urging community youth groups to step up and engage in assisting families in their communities who have been severely affected by the pandemic.

The Barara Youth club began their assistance initiative when they saw that many breadwinners of a family were not working due to the lockdown of their settlement this year.

They are also looking to assist more families and is requesting the business community for their assistance and support.
