Families and friends celebrated Eid together

It's the celebration of newly formed friendships, learning of others beliefs and a time of togetherness.

These are the views of Muslims and people of different religions and race as they celebrate Eid today at various households around the country.

Fijivillage asked a number of families as to what Eid meant to them and for most it has a deeper meaning to that of a celebration of the coming to an end of their fasting period.

For many families it was hours of preparations of sweets and food which they will be sharing.

We visited some households and this is how they are spending their day.
