A fallen tree on the 132,000 Volts Transmission Energy Fiji Limited Line from Wailoa Power Station to Cunningham Road Zone Substation in Suva has caused power disruptions for people living in the Central Division from about 2.30pm today.

EFL says they received a report of someone cutting a tree in Waibau that accidentally fell on the 132KV transmission line which disrupted the evacuation of power supply from the Wailoa Hydro Electric Power Station to the Cunningham Road Zone Substation in Suva.

Their teams are on their way to remove this fallen tree off the transmission line, before the line is re-energised.

EFL says while their teams are in the process of restoring supply to the affected areas via the Kinoya Power Station, it will take time to restore power to the whole of the Central Division.
