Fijian Teachers Association President Netani Druavesi

It is not that FTA is for this government, we all voted for them to come in, a government that can work together with the teachers union.

Fijian Teachers Association President, Netani Druavesi stated this while responding to former Minister for Education and FijiFirst MP, Premila Kumar who said the FTA went back on their word regarding 4 school terms.

He says the former Minister for Education and her Permanent Secretary were not very cooperative during their term.

The FTA President also says the teachers passion is not there any more, they come in at 8 and they knock off at 3, and they do not even worry about the children.

He adds this is because of the kind of service they were getting from the past Ministry of Education.

Druavesi adds they are not trying to point fingers but just talk about facts.

He says as soon as the new government came in they changed the terms from 4 to 3, and that is normal.

Druavesi says Premila Kumar is just being very defensive.
