Women in Fiji have achieved a lot in rugby including the inaugural Super W title, and the Fiji Rugby Union saw the need to put everything in the right structure to make the work of coaches easier.
This was highlighted by the FRU CEO John O’Connor who says that they will be starting the Kajiana Rugby for primary school girls this year.
He says now they have created separate competitions for women, the Raluve Trophy, and they will also introduce the Kajiana for the school girls which will go together with the Kaji rugby.
The CEO says when the former Fijiana 15s Head Coach Senirusi Seruvakula took up his position, FRU had barely started Women’s Rugby.
O’Connor says the structure of Women’s Rugby was a challenge for Seruvakula.
Meanwhile, Seruvakula has stepped down as the coach for the Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua and the Fijiana 15s team.
He will however remain an FRU employee.
