FRU confirms Fiji 7s team to Dubai 7s

Two players will make their debut for the Vodafone Fiji 7s team in the Dubai 7s next week.

Uluinakau Babas youngster Setareki Bituniyata and Newnet Yasawa flyer Kalione Nasoko have forced their way into the team after impressing coach Nacanieli Cawanibuka.

Making their comeback into the World Sevens Series are veteran wing, Joeli Lutumailagi and nippy halfback, Waisea Nacuqu.

Cawanibuka has also included six Olympic Gold Medalists which include the captain Osea Kolinisau, Co-vice-captains Jasa Veremalua and Samisoni Viriviri, Kitione Taliga, Masivesi Dakuwaqa, and playmaker Jerry Tuwai.

The other players in the team include Nemani Nagusa, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Emosi Mulevoro and Josua Vici.

The team alongside the Telecom Fijiana will present their iTautau to the President on Wednesday before they depart for Dubai.

Following the Dubai 7s tournament, the Vodafone Fiji 7s men will make their way to South Africa for the Cape Town 7s while the Telecom Fijiana will make their way back to Fiji.

Meanwhile, the Telecom Fijiana team include Miriama Naiobasali, Rusila Nagasau, Merewai Cumu, Tima Tamoi, Priscilla Siata and Adi Wainikiti Naselesele.

The backs are captain Ana Maria, Tima Ravisa, Viniana Riwaia, Lavenia Tinai, Asena Yaliwalili, Ana Maria Naimasi and Raijeli Daveua.

The Dubai 7s will kick off next Friday.
