The Fiji Revenue and Customs Service and the Water Authority of Fiji have signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will enable FRCS to receive updated and current information from WAF on its contractors and subcontractors, and utilise this information to update their database as well as enhance tax compliance.
FRCS CEO, Fane Vave says there may be taxpayers, who are operating businesses but are not registered with FRCS.
She says through this MOU they will be able to track them by matching their information from WAF database with their records.
WAF Chief Executive Officer Barry Omundson says they are hoping that this will greatly strengthen tax compliance in Fiji.
