The Fiji Roads Authority is currently embarking on a 2-year program to carry out major reconstruction in Walu Bay to Lami Roads, Nakasi and Khalsa Road under the original Suva Arterial Road Upgrading Project 2 (SARUP 2) scope of work.
This has been highlighted by the FRA CEO, Jonathan Moore when questioned by Fijivillage News on what is FRA doing regarding the increasing number of potholes in the Central Division.
Moore says in many locations, it is beyond the point of being able to maintain the road through simple pothole repairs.
He says this is in section of Queens, Kings and Princes Road, Fletcher Road and Nokonoko Road.
Moore says along with the rehabilitation of major roads, they are also changing the old outdated lighting systems to improve visibility and safety.
He says this programme also extends beyond central into western and Northern Divisions .
