The Fiji Roads Authority has now issued a travel restriction and halfway traffic movement for these areas along Queens Highway - Vunaniu Flats before Korovisilou Village travelling towards Suva, Nabukelevu flats after Naboutini Village travelling towards Suva, Galoa Village is expected to be closed shortly with continuous rain and Yarawa flats.
Flood waters have started to come on parts of Queens Highway along Vunaniu flats and Naboutini in Serua and Namatakula in Nadroga.
Meanwhile, the water level is rising in the Wainadoi River as heavy rain continues.
A resident of Waikasi-nirua Road in Wainadoi, Monika Prasad told Fijivillage that she was worried about how her two children would come home today as they had to cross the river to get home after school.
We contacted Police and National Disaster Management Office to assist them. We can confirm that Monika’s children are safe at home.
