A first-year Fiji National University student has been assisting 19 primary school students in Ra by providing her laptop for their online classes.
Sesarina Adidrau who is studying Bachelor Of Education in Science majoring in Biology and Chemistry at the Natabua Campus says she has the only laptop in the village and the students use it for their online classes.
She says because there is a connectivity problem in her village, they have built a small tent at the internet connectivity site so students can have a place for their classes.
Adidrau says the morning sessions are for classes 1 to 6 and the higher grades are in the afternoon.
She adds if she has an online class during the day, she uses her phone while the students use the laptop.

The Nasau villager says it's a great experience for her, as she is pursuing to become a teacher in the future.
She also highlighted that sometimes she paddles out to sea to get internet connectivity to upload her assignments or download notes for her studies.
Adidrau says the support of the villagers has been overwhelming that they have built a shelter for them at the connectivity site for the students.
The first-year FNU student says she understands the challenges they are facing due to the pandemic but this did not deter her from giving her laptop so that the children can learn and be ready when school resumes.
