More than 10,000 people including secondary school students visited the Fiji National University Open Day at the Nasinu, Natabua and Naduna campuses yesterday.

Suva Grammar School’s Head Girl Zoe Korosavu says she is looking forward to studying at FNU next year and the Open Day provided the relevant information she needed.

Korosavu is planning on studying in the field of Geography.

People who attended the Open Day today were also entertained by CFL personalities Drix, Bunene and Ouch Mama.

Meanwhile, FNU was commended for taking a leading role in promoting sustainability and greener initiatives amongst its staff and students.

While speaking at the closing of the inaugural Sustainability Week and Open Day, Minister for Agriculture, Waterways and Environment Dr. Mahendra Reddy says it is crucial that institutions such as FNU is on board and supports the government in its vision for a more sustainable and resilient future.

Dr Reddy adds as a country facing the full brunt of climate change daily, all Fijians must also take responsibility and accountability for their actions towards the environment and natural resources.

The second day of the Open Day will be today.
