FNPF extends overseas medical assistance benefits

The Fiji National Provident Fund has extended its overseas medical assistance benefits by increasing incidental expenses to cover associated costs.

Members who do not have medical insurance can now access as much as $10,000 while insured members can access $5000.

FNPF, CEO, Aisake Taito said these additional benefit is part of the new improvements which they are introducing.

He said the FNPF member applying must have enough funds in his general account eligibility to cover the cost of the treatment.

Members will also need to submit a confirmation from an overseas hospital on the breakdown of the cost treatment.

According to the FNPF, cost of the treatment will be directly deposited to the medical institution while the incidental expenses will be paid to members.

In the last financial year, the fund paid out a total of $49.8million for the 39,000 members that had applied for early withdrawal assistance.
