The suspension of the Fiji Labour Party for failing to comply with a key financial provision of the Political Parties Decree has been lifted.
Registrar of Political Parties Mohammed Saneem has confirmed that the Labour Party has paid the advertising charges of $6,375.60 owing to the Registrar’s Office for the publication of its declaration of assets and liabilities, as required under the Decree.
The Fiji Labour Party is now free to once again operate, function, represent and hold itself out to be a political party.
Under the Political Parties Decree, the FLP had to pay the advertising charges by the set deadline.
However, FLP Leader Mahendra Chaudhry said he was waiting for the Commerce Commission decision on their query.
