FICAC has today confirmed that some senior officials of the Ministry of Forests are under investigation.
No details have been given in relation to the investigation.
The Public Service Commission confirmed earlier today that the Permanent Secretary for Forests Samuela Lagataki has been suspended pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation by FICAC.
The resolution was passed by PSC.
Lagataki’s suspension will take effect immediately.
The Permanent Secretary for Forests position will be taken up in an acting capacity by the Permanent Secretary for Civil Service, Bernadette Welch.
