The Fiji Women’s Basketball U15 side fell short in their second match of the FIBA Women’s U15 Oceania Cup after losing 76-52 to neighbours Tonga in Canberra, Australia.

Fiji had no answers to Tonga’s resilience and fast-paced game and could not back up their performance from their first game win over the Cook Islands.

Tonga took out all 4 quarters of the match winning 23-17 in the first quarter, 13-11 in the second quarter, 22-11 in the 3rdquarter and 18-13 in the final quarter.

Fiji’s point guard Zara Suka continued her fine form as she scored 22 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, and 6 blocks in 40 minutes, but it was not enough to help her side secure a second win.

Fiji will now turn their focus to their next pool match against New Caledonia at 3pm today.
