Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says a team from the Fijian Elections Office is in Lakena Hill 2 trying to establish what transpired that resulted in the removal of a ballot box from the polling venue.
He says he is aware of the incident and they have received photographs.
Legend FM News was also sent photos from concerned residents in the area.
When we asked Saneem, he said what they are aware of is that the Police Officer accompanied the ballot box.
He adds that they will be able to provide more information when they receive the team’s report.

Meanwhile, Saneem says they have estimated that around 315,000 Fijians have cast their votes and they had to deal with around 60 people that had issues with polling today.
