The Fijian Elections Office will be conducting the elections of the office holders for the National Union of Workers.
Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem says they have agreed to move the receiving of the nominations to a neutral venue and for the administrative processing of nominations by the Fijian Elections Office Returning Officer.
Saneem says the vetting of the nominations as required under the union constitution will still be done by the Union and the FEO will thereafter handle the election process through postal ballot if any of the positions are contested.
Saneem says that the National Union of Workers has over 3000 members that work in 25 companies around the country.
The FEO says therefore that nominations for the national president, 2 vice presidents, national treasurer and general secretary are to be submitted to any of their officers around the country.
The nominations close this Saturday.
