The Fijian Elections Office has served 55,725 voters from the beginning of this Nationwide Voter Registration Drive up till today.
Speaking at a press conference at the voter registration centre at Damodar City, Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says this will add up to over 560,000 that have already been served during the drive and earlier programs of the FEO.
He says they are noticing that the number of people trickling into the registration centres has significantly reduced and this shows that a lot of people who wanted to update to the latest voter card have done so.
Saneem says the Writ of Elections can be issued any day from today onwards as parliament will not be sitting anymore.
He adds if a voter did not register, update their details or update their card during the voter drive, they will have to go to any of their registration centres until the Writ is issued and that is where they will be providing the voter service.
