The Fijian Elections Office Nationwide Voter Registration and Awareness Drive which was supposed to end on April 2nd has been extended to April 14th.
Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem says their teams were supposed to be in towns and cities in the last week of the drive however they cannot do that at the moment because they still have to cover some places in rural areas.
Saneem says from April 2nd to 14th, they will concentrate specifically on urban areas.
He says as at yesterday, they have surpassed their target and provided voter service to 110,225 Fijians.
Saneem says they have so far visited 116 settlements and 849 villages.
He has also revealed that overseas registrations will be facilitated by the Fiji’s missions in abroad.
Saneem adds Fijians living overseas who are already a registered voter, can apply to vote by postal ballet.
The Supervisor says you will need to provide your details in the postal vote application form, from either the green or blue voter card.
