The Fijian Elections Office has announced that they have begun the packing of election materials for polling venues where voting will take place on election day, November 14th.
Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem made the announcement at the Fijian Elections Office Warehouse in Laucala Beach.
Saneem says they have started packing materials for the Northern Division and upon completion of packing for the entire Northern Division packing will start for other divisions.
He says this is being one so that materials can be transferred to polling venues well ahead of time.
The Supervisor of Elections says the materials being packed include ballot papers, indelible ink, and the protocols of results.
He says seals for election day will be used to seal the ballot boxes.
Saneem has revealed that the Northern Division has 271 polling stations and 107 ballot boxes will be packed to be transferred to Labasa.
He says the packing teams are under taking 12 hour shifts and rotate jobs within the team to avoid monotony and ensure accuracy.
Saneem says the packing of materials for Labasa should be completed by today or tomorrow morning.
