The Fiji Electricity Authority will be carrying out replacement of a 132,000 volt circuit breaker at their 132 kilo volts Wailoa Switching Substation tomorrow.
Acting Chief Executive Officer, Eparama Tawake says this is part of the Monasavu Hydro Electric Power Scheme Half Life Refurbishment works.
Tawake says as a result of this work the 132,000 volts transmission line from the Wailoa Power Station to Cunningham Road Zone Substation will be switched off.
He says this will mean that FEA will not be able to transmit electricity from the Wailoa Hydro Power Station to the Central Division.
Tawake says during this time, they will rely on their Diesel Power Stations at Korovou, Kinoya, Rokobili and Deuba to supply electricity to their Central Division Customers from Korolevu in Sigatoka to Korovou, Tailevu.
Tawake says FEA will do its utmost to ensure that power interruptions are kept to a minimum.
He says this exercise will be carried out subject to favourable weather conditions and if the weather is not favourable the exercise will be postponed and the customers will be informed.
