The Fiji College of General Practitioners has cautioned parents of 9 to 12 year old girls to wait for Gardasil's Post Marketing Surveillance period to be over before deciding on whether their daughters should be vaccinated.
Although the Health Ministry said the clinical tests for the vaccine is over, the College of General Practitioners President, Doctor Wahid Khan said Gardasil is on a trial period until next year.
Dactor Khan said members of the Fiji College of General Practitioners are also analysing why the drug company, Merck has decided to donate 13.9 million US dollars worth of the vaccine to Fiji.
