People are being made aware of a new scam involving a text message claiming that a package has arrived at the Post Fiji Warehouse but cannot be delivered due to incorrect address information.
The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission says the message prompts recipients to click on a link to correct their address details, which leads to a fraudulent website designed to steal personal information.
They say the scam message comes from an unrecognized email address and the fraudulent link provided is not the official Post Fiji website.
The legitimate website for Post Fiji is https://www.postfiji.com.fj/
FCCC is urging everyone to verify the authenticity of such messages by verifying with the organisation that the sender claims to be from.
They stress that people should not click on suspicious links or provide personal information unless they are certain the message is legitimate.
The FCCC is also urging people to report any cases they encounter.
