As people prepare for Eid, the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has delivered good news by announcing a significant reduction in ghee prices.
This reduction aims to ease the cost of living and provide financial relief for consumers during this festive season.
FCCC says following a comprehensive analysis, they determined an average price reduction of 15 percent at the ex-factory level and result, people can expect a noticeable decrease in ghee retail prices.
They say when FCCC regulates ex-factory pricing, retailers and wholesalers are expected to adjust their prices fairly and reasonably to reflect these reductions.
They say previously, the retail price of a 750ml bottle of Ghee ranged from $27 to $31.
Acting CEO Pranil Singh is warning the retailers and wholesalers that FCCC will take decisive action against any non-compliance.
Singh adds retailers and wholesalers must act responsibly.
