The man who allegedly attempted to assassinate former US President Donald Trump during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania earlier today has been identified as 20-year-old Thomas Mathew Crooks.
They say he is from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
Secret Service confirms Crooks was shot dead at the scene.
The FBI say this remains an open investigation as they encourage people to come forward with information.
They also say the shooting was an assassination attempt against Trump.
Meanwhile, another man has died during the incident while two other injured men are in critical condition.
Following the shooting, Trump dropped to the ground and was swarmed by Secret Service agents.
He had blood on his face and appeared to raise a fist into the air as he was escorted off stage and taken to the hospital.
He has since been discharged.
Trump, on his Truth Social account, says he was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of his right ear.
He says he knew immediately that something was wrong in that he heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin.
Trump will attend the Republican National Convention from Tuesday, as planned.
