The new Fijian Broadcasting Corporation Board is open to dialogue with other media companies.
This was highlighted by Board Chairperson Ajay Bhai Amrit when questioned about cross media ownership in the Media Act where only the government owned FBC can operate more than one type of media in the country.
This is the reason why only FBC can operate radio stations and a television station in Fiji as other media companies are restricted from doing this under the law.
Amrit says lets just have dialogue with the FBC CEO and senior management and once the board has information, they will inform the people.
