Expired agricultural land leases to be renewed in the north
About 80 percent of the expired agricultural land leases in the Northern division will be renewed.

Commissioner Northern Colonel Inia Seruiratu said about 60 percent of the expired leases has already been renewed.

This will see more farmers focus on Agriculture farming and utilizing idle land.    

Colonel Seruiratu said apart from Agriculture, they are also concentrating on pearl farming, seaweed and sea urchins.

He said tourism is growing in Savusavu and Taveuni and a Captain Cook Cruises vessel is also going to Vanua Levu.

He said the Government is expected to target the right areas to succeed.
