Fiji Airways National 7s Coach, Gareth Baber will identify potential players that can be part of an extended squad to prepare for the Tokyo Olympics in July.
While watching the players in action in the Fiji Rugby Super 7s currently underway at Lawaqa Park, Baber says the focus is on the minds of the players on what is ahead of us as it has been a particularly difficult last 12 months.
Baber says it is a crucial time for us but we are blessed to be able to have a 7s tournament with 16 top teams.
The National Coach also says while players like Jerry Tuwai and Meli Derenalagi have a lot of experience, all the players have to continue to be in top form when he decides to pick the final team for the Olympics.
Baber says he will make decisions based around lack of experience against the quality produced in the tournaments over the next few months.
The Super 7s quarters, semis and final will be played at Lawaqa Park tomorrow.
