Evacuation centres opened in Central Division

National Disaster Management Office Director Akapusi Tuifagalele has confirmed that an evacuation centre has been opened in the Central Division.

Tuifagalele says Kalabu Secondary School is now open for people to take shelter.

He adds that no one is currently at the school and they are working on opening other evacuation centres in other parts of the country.

26 people from Sorua settlement in Lokia, Nausori are currently taking shelter at the LDS church in Lokia which has been opened as an evacuation centre.
