Netherlands beat Poland 2-1 as Wout Weghorst swept in a late goal for the team in their Euro Championship 2024 campaign at Hamburg this morning.
Both teams were tied 1-1 at halftime.
In the hours before kick-off a man was shot by police close to where fans had been gathering in the city, but the game went ahead and delivered an entertaining encounter.
The Netherlands had been the dominant side in the match but missed a number of chances and Poland took advantage of it to score a goal.
It is a big win for the Netherlands as they will face France at 7am on Friday while while Poland face Austria at 4am on the same day.
In another match, Denmark and Slovenia finished 1-1.
