Eshleen Mrinalika Nand of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School was overjoyed after receiving her Year 13 external examination results of 360 out of 400 today, as she and her family look forward to a double celebration during Christmas.
Nand says she is happy with her marks, which reflects the commitment and sacrifices she made this year.
She acknowledged her parents and grandparents for their unwavering support.
The 18-year-old score 98 in Pure Mathematics, while her lowest was 79 in English.
Meanwhile, Isabela Vusonilawedua was emotional upon receiving her results, reflecting on her father’s sacrifices as a single parent who worked hard to support her education.
Vusonilawedua is a student at William Cross College.
Vusonilawedua says passing the Year 13 exam is a significant achievement for her, as she aspires to further her studies to support her father.
While speaking to fijiVillage News, she says she could not hold back her emotions as her hard work finally paid off.
She says celebrating Christmas tomorrow will be different from previous years, as it marks a double celebration for her and her family.
and also acknowledged her father’s sacrifices and dedication to her education.
Meanwhile, Sowani Naicomudu Junior, a student of Queen Victoria School says he initially aimed for 320 marks as the requirement set by the University of the South Pacific for those wishing to study Politics.
Junior says he was thrilled to have surpassed his goal, scoring 341 out of 400, which has paved the way for him to pursue studies in Politics and Public Administration.
He adds tomorrow’s Christmas celebration will be filled with mixed emotions and joy, as his mother has been his source of strength since his father passed away last year.
The 19-year-old wishes his father was alive to witness his success.
