17-year-old Eparama Tuvunivono’s pursuance of a professional rugby career has been a rewarding journey.
Tuvunivono left school due to unforeseen circumstances but got his breakthrough in securing a training contract in Japan when former Flying Fijian captain Seremaia Bai approached him to train and play for the Eastern Saints 7s team.
He says Bai helped him develop his knowledge and skills in rugby and he also represented Fiji at Youth Games at the national and international level.
He says it has been a tough ride but it is a promising one.
The 17-year-old will be joining his first rugby club in Japan later this month.
He will be playing for the Eastern Saints 7s team in the second leg of the Super 7s Series at Prince Charles Park from Friday.
