England 7s coach Simon Amor is set to be appointed as England’s attack coach in the coming days, replacing the outgoing Scott Wisemantel.
Planet Rugby understands that Amor, who is currently in charge of the England Men’s Sevens side, will be confirmed in the position next week.
Amor also led Great Britain to the silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games, as he has followed up an impressive playing career with a strong coaching CV. He played for England Sevens from 2001 to 2006, helping the side to win another silver medal, at the Commonwealth Games.
Following Wisemantel’s departure to join the Wallabies after the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, England were on the hunt for a replacement. It is believed that the Rugby Football Union were eager to promote Amor to the vacant position where he will work under head coach Eddie Jones.
