England manager Gareth Southgate has resigned two days after their 2-1 defeat by Spain in the 2024 European Championship final.
This is the England side’s second consecutive Euros final defeat, having been beaten on penalties by Italy at Wembley three years ago.
Southgate managed his country for 102 games after being bin charge for 8 years.
His contract was set to expire later this year.
Southgate says as a proud Englishman, it has been the honour of his life to play for and to manage England.
Football Association Chief Executive Mark Bullingham says the process to appoint Southgate's successor has started and they aim to have their new manager confirmed as soon as possible.
