Embracing renewable energy is key to solving the challenge of climate change which poses such a danger to our way of life in the Pacific.
This was highlighted by the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama while officiating the launch of Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji’s Solar Energy project at their manufacturing facility in Laucala Beach Estate today.
Bainimarama says that through this initiative by Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji is taking the key leadership role in persuading Private Enterprise throughout the Pacific to do the same.
He has also acknowledged Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji for their initiative in ensuring that 40 percent of their production is now powered by Solar Energy.
Coca-Cola Amatil Fiji and Sunergise Fiji and New Zealand have entered into a partnership that has installed more than 3,800 solar panels at Coca-Cola’s Laucala Beach Production Plant which produces 1.4m kilowatt hours of energy per year and this is equivalent of saving 414,722 litres of diesel per year, or planting 24,964 trees.ADVERTISEMENT Listen to the latest news on our 5 radio stations Legend FM, Viti FM, Radio Sargam, FM96 and Navtarang.
