The Embassy of France in Fiji has undertaken an Art and Rehabilitation program which will up-skill female inmates artistic skills with the aim of helping them become a better person in the future.
The Fiji Corrections Service today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the French Embassy in Fiji to run the Art and Rehabilitation program at Women’s Correction Centers around the country.
Program Organiser Jane Seam says women will be trained in beauty therapy, massage with aroma therapy and art therapy.
She says volunteers and art professionals will be undergoing a security awareness seminar next week before they begin training the female inmates.
The training will be done every Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next 2-3 months.
